I moved to the pines in Bastrop/Paige in '07, and I had my carport turned into a 22'x24' garage. The concrete is a fiber mix, so its still quite dusty and has fuzz sticking out of it.
I have a Civic that I daily drive and a CRX that I use on weekends for SCCA racing at the local tracks. At first it was a necessity, but it has become a peaceful hobby to do all the mechanical work on both cars myself, and so I have become a guy who loves his garage. Since the garage is very generous for two small cars, I have also co-opted the middle section of it as a work-out area with a weight bench and padded floor.
Although I'm a major DIY type person, I'm interested in a quote for getting it professionally coated. I'd like something plain, tan or gray, that will last and put up with my constant coolant and oil spills, metal jack wheels and jack stands, and sticky race rubber tires.
Here are some pics of the garage as it is today... I have not yet insulated and covered the walls... they will be corrugated metal on the bottom two feet, with plywood above that up to the rafters.
PS: A good number of local racers have had some lengthy discussions about coating floors on their mailing list!
